Green Roofing

Green Roofing

Green roofs are steadily becoming an increasingly popular addition to homes and commercial buildings all over the world. Green roofs, also known as vegetative or “eco-roofs” are roofs on which a layer of vegetation is planted over a waterproofing system on the roof. Green roofs are most commonly installed on flat or low slope roofs depending on their intended purpose.

Green roofs can be used for several things including absorbing rainwater, providing insulation, creating a habitat for wildlife, increasing well-being by decreasing stress and creating a more pleasant environment, reducing energy consumption, or even growing plants and food. Dependant on the type of green roof, they can also be a relatively low maintenance choice.

Green roofs require specific layers of roofing not found on typical roofs that each perform a precise function to maintain the life of its plants and protect the building underneath it.

At Magas Roofing we are strong supporters of green roofing and can work with you to design a green-roof that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional.
